Abbeyfield Gerrards Cross Society
The Society occupies a substantial detached house in a prime residential road, offering comfortable accommodation for 12 residents. It has delightful gardens and is within easy, level walking distance of the busy village centre which not only boasts a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants but also has a small 2xscreen cinema and a library.
The Gerrards Cross Society was started in 1969 and it’s Memorandum and Articles of Association was incorporated on 7 October of that year. The house was substantially expanded and modernized in 1992 with the addition of a lift, two new bathrooms and six extra bedrooms. In 2005 a new extension was built, giving improved kitchen facilities, another bedroom and considerably updating other resident’s rooms.
There is no nursing care at Gerrards Cross, although short term outside assistance can usually be arranged through Social Services and other agencies. Residents are expected to be able to look after their personal needs and prepare their own breakfasts from stores provided by the Senior House Manager.
